What an incredible week! The shallow sandy beach was perfect for our toddler and the dock was great for the older kids to jump off. The Muskoka Room was our favourite spot every morning with coffee. Super clean, beautifully updated cottage — we're already planning to come back next summer.
Southeast exposure means you get sun from morning right through to the evening — we were on the dock all day. The cottage is genuinely spacious, the kitchen has everything you need, and the firepit by the lake at night is magic. Monika was very communicative and the check-in was seamless.
We came with two families and the space worked beautifully — three bedrooms, a sofa pullout, two bathrooms and a massive living area. The canoe and paddleboards were a huge hit. Hesners Lake is quiet and uncrowded which made it feel incredibly private. 10/10 highly recommend.
We came in fall for the colours and it was absolutely stunning. The firepit was going every night, the propane fireplace inside kept us cozy, and the lake was still warm enough for a swim. Cathedral ceilings and windows everywhere — you truly feel like you're in nature even inside. Exceptional property.
The swim platform is so fun — it's far enough from the dock to be in deep, open water. Our teenagers loved it. The property is exactly as shown, very clean, and the hosts are responsive and professional. Bala is 10 minutes away with great restaurants and shops. We'll be booking again for sure.
Set on a double lot with exceptional privacy on quiet Hesners Lake — a small, unspoiled lake in the Township of Muskoka Lakes, northeast of Bala. Only 20 minutes to Gravenhurst or Port Carling, and just under 2 hours from Toronto. Enjoy live music at The KEE, smoked brisket at Smokin' Birds, and the Bala Farmers' Market on Wednesdays. Hardy Lake Provincial Park is nearby for hiking and snowshoeing.
