Our large group cottages go well beyond enough beds. Here's what you'll typically find across the collection.
Every property has waterfront access — most with their own dock, many with sandy beaches or swim areas.
Pool tables, foosball, arcade machines — our group homes have indoor entertainment for rainy days.
A majority of our 10+ guest homes include a hot tub or sauna — perfect for evening wind-downs after a full day on the lake.
Most homes include on-site water toys — kayaks, paddleboards, canoes — so you can hit the water right away.
Large open-concept kitchens with enough counter space, cookware, and seating to feed the whole crew every meal.
Every group cottage has an outdoor fire pit — the natural gathering point for evenings of storytelling and stargazing.
Multiple properties have Starlink satellite — fast and reliable even in remote cottage country locations.
Over half our large group cottages welcome well-behaved dogs. Look for the Pets OK tag on each listing above.
Half the magic of a group cottage trip is what you do beyond the dock. Ontario's cottage country is packed with activities that work beautifully for large families and groups — from paddling adventures and local dining to hiking, historic sites, and small-town markets. Here's a region-by-region guide to making the most of your stay.
Muskoka is Ontario's playground for large groups — endless lakes, charming towns, and four seasons of activity just minutes from your dock. Our Muskoka group cottages are based in Bala, Port Carling, Gravenhurst, and Seguin, putting you at the centre of it all.
Lake Muskoka, Lake Rosseau, and Lake Joseph form the legendary "Three Lakes" system — rent a pontoon boat and spend the day island-hopping, swimming off rock outcroppings, and exploring hidden bays as a group.
Paddle the Muskoka River system or explore quieter coves off Lake Muskoka. Most of our cottages include kayaks and paddleboards on-site, and guided canoe tours are available through local outfitters near Gravenhurst and Bracebridge.
A short drive from Emsdale and Huntsville, Arrowhead is a favourite for large groups — hike the Stubb's Falls trail, swim in the swimming area, and rent canoes on Arrowhead Lake. In winter, the park offers skating on a maintained 1.3 km trail through the forest.
Board the RMS Segwun — North America's oldest operating steamship — for a scenic cruise on Lake Muskoka departing from Gravenhurst Wharf. An iconic group activity that doubles as a sunset experience. The Wharf also has shops, dining, and a farmers' market.
Located in Bala on the shores of Lake Muskoka, this beloved winery offers tastings of their locally grown cranberry wines and spirits. The highlight is the famous Muskoka cranberry harvest in October — one of the best fall group experiences in Ontario.
The Muskoka region has some of Ontario's finest golf courses. Deerhurst Highlands, Taboo Muskoka, and The Lake Joseph Club offer world-class rounds with dramatic scenery. Perfect for groups that want to mix a morning on the course with an afternoon on the lake.
Port Carling is the hub of Muskoka's Big Three Lakes — boutique shops, great restaurants, and the iconic swing bridge over the Indian River. Bracebridge offers a full downtown with galleries, breweries, and the stunning High Falls just minutes from the town centre.
Muskoka Brewery in Bracebridge is one of Ontario's most celebrated craft breweries. Take a group tour, sample seasonal releases, and pick up mixed cases to enjoy back at the cottage. Several other craft spots have also opened across the region in recent years.
Georgian Bay and Parry Sound offer a wilder, more rugged cottage country experience — stunning shield rock landscapes, island-dotted bays, and provincial parks that feel genuinely remote. Our group cottages in Midland and Parry Sound put you right in the heart of it.
One of Ontario's most spectacular parks, just north of Parry Sound. Killbear has dramatic Georgian Bay shoreline, swimming beaches, excellent hiking, and some of the best rock-jumping in the province. Large groups can spend a full day here — book a day pass in advance during peak summer season.
A fully paved multi-use trail stretching 34 km from Collingwood to Meaford, hugging the shoreline of Georgian Bay. Rent bikes from local shops and ride as a group — the scenery is gorgeous, and plenty of cafés and stops along the route make it perfect for a half-day outing.
Ontario's largest living history museum, located minutes from our Midland cottages. This 17th-century Jesuit mission reconstruction brings history to life with costumed interpreters, working farm animals, and guided tours — a surprisingly engaging experience for all ages in a group.
Step aboard the Bee and the Perseverance — two meticulously reconstructed 1812-era British naval vessels — at this historic marine park on the shores of Midland Bay. Guided tours and period demonstrations make for a memorable afternoon group activity.
Located between Midland and Penetanguishene, this 3,000-acre freshwater marsh is home to trumpeter swans, great blue herons, and dozens of other species. Large groups can explore via canoe or guided boardwalk tour — a peaceful contrast to a day on the water.
Parry Sound hosts the Festival of the Sound every summer — one of Ontario's premier classical music festivals in a stunning Georgian Bay setting. The town's waterfront also has excellent dining, galleries, and the Parry Sound Harbour Heritage Museum for rainy-day exploring.
Georgian Bay is legendary for smallmouth bass, walleye, and muskie fishing. Several outfitters near Parry Sound and Port Severn offer half-day and full-day charter fishing trips for groups — an excellent way to spend a morning before a big cottage dinner.
The Massasauga Provincial Park and surrounding areas have excellent beginner-to-intermediate rock faces on Georgian Bay's Canadian Shield. Local guide services offer group climbing sessions — no experience necessary and highly memorable for groups looking for something different.
The Kawarthas are famous for their warm, shallow, lake-friendly waters — ideal for groups who love boating, fishing, and waterfront dining. Our Kawartha group cottages sit on Sturgeon Lake near Fenelon Falls, putting you on one of the region's finest waterways.
One of Canada's great inland waterway experiences — lock through historic lift locks and hand-operated dams on a boat tour between lakes. The Fenelon Falls lock right in town is one of the most scenic on the entire 386 km route. A must-do for large groups exploring by water.
Sturgeon Lake is one of the Kawarthas' best fisheries — excellent for bass, walleye, northern pike, and perch. Most of our Kawartha cottages have docks and boat access. Local bait and tackle shops near Fenelon Falls can set your group up for a half-day fishing excursion.
Called the "Jewel of the Kawarthas," Fenelon Falls has a charming waterfront main street with local restaurants, bakeries, gift shops, and galleries. Watching boats lock through at the Fenelon Falls lock from the bridge above is a quintessential Kawartha experience.
A vast wilderness park of 25,000+ hectares with multi-day canoe routes, backcountry camping, and spectacular rock scenery. For large groups, day trips to accessible entry points offer tremendous hiking and paddling without the need for a permit — just pack a lunch and go.
Home to the largest collection of Indigenous rock carvings in Canada — over 900 ancient petroglyphs created by Anishinaabe people. Located near Peterborough, this UNESCO-recognized site is a profound and educational experience for all ages in a large group.
Bobcaygeon is a favourite Kawartha town for groups — a vibrant main street with restaurants, the iconic Bobcaygeon Brewing Company, boutique shopping, and the scenic Trent-Severn lock right in the village. About 20 minutes from Sturgeon Lake, it's the perfect group dinner destination.
The Kawarthas chain of lakes — Balsam, Cameron, Sturgeon, and Pigeon — are all interconnected and navigable by boat. A pontoon or party barge lets your whole group explore multiple lakes in a single day, stopping at sandbars and swimming spots along the way.
Just 30–40 minutes from most Kawartha cottages, Peterborough has a thriving arts scene, great restaurants along the Otonabee River, and the iconic Peterborough Lift Lock — the world's highest hydraulic lift lock and a National Historic Site. A great rainy-day group outing.
Lake Simcoe is Ontario's closest cottage country — just 90 minutes from Toronto — making it the top choice for large groups who want maximum lake time without a long drive. Our Innisfil group cottage sits steps from Friday Harbour Resort, one of Ontario's most complete lakefront communities.
Steps from our Innisfil cottage, Friday Harbour is a full-service lakefront resort with a marina, beach club, restaurants, boutique shops, and outdoor entertainment. Large groups can grab day passes to the beach club, rent boats from the marina, and dine at multiple restaurants all in one location.
At over 740 km² of water, Lake Simcoe is one of Ontario's largest lakes and one of its most boat-friendly. Pontoon boats, wakeboats, and kayaks can all be rented locally for group days on the water — the lake is warm, calm, and beautifully scenic in every direction.
Lake Simcoe is renowned for its lake trout, whitefish, yellow perch, and bass fisheries. Fishing is excellent year-round — book a guided group fishing charter from the Innisfil or Barrie waterfront and bring your evening's dinner back to the cottage.
A beautiful public beach park in the heart of Innisfil with a sandy beach, picnic areas, volleyball courts, and shallow swim zones ideal for kids and casual swimmers. A great group outing for a few hours away from the private cottage property.
Located about 30 minutes north in Barrie, Horseshoe Resort offers skiing and snowboarding in winter, and zip-lining, mountain biking, and hiking in summer. A fantastic half-day or full-day group excursion in any season — great for groups that want some adventure alongside the lake.
Just 20 minutes from Innisfil, Barrie's vibrant waterfront features Centennial Beach, Meridian Place outdoor amphitheatre, excellent restaurants on Dunlop Street, and a thriving craft brewery scene. A great group dinner destination or evening outing.
Several high-quality spas near Friday Harbour and the Barrie area cater to group bookings — ideal for an after-arrival treat or a midweek reset. Couples' massages, group packages, and hydrotherapy options are all available nearby.
One of Lake Simcoe's unique advantages — it's close enough to pop back to Toronto for a quick errand, airport pickup, or day trip without feeling like you've lost a travel day. The 400 and 404/407 make Lake Simcoe the most logistically flexible base in Ontario's cottage country.
