Good Times in brief
Good Times is a newly renovated six-bedroom, three-bathroom lakefront cottage on Morrison Lake near Gravenhurst, in Muskoka. It sleeps 12 and has a covered hot tub, two kitchens, two decks at the water’s edge, a fire pit, kayaks, paddleboards and a paddle boat, plus a games room with foosball, air hockey, arcade games and a PS5. Downtown Gravenhurst is about 30 minutes away and Toronto roughly 2.5 hours. Small pets are welcome by approval, with a $150 pet fee per stay. Call 705-996-6799 to check dates.
An A-frame built for a crowd
Good Times announces itself from the water: a steep A-frame roofline, a wall of glass and a dock reaching out into Morrison Lake, southwest of Gravenhurst. The house has been newly renovated and furnished from scratch, and it is laid out for the kind of trip that brings three generations under one roof.
Inside, the great room rises to a vaulted wood ceiling, with floor-to-ceiling windows that frame the lake from the sofa. A kitchen island with five stools keeps the cook in the conversation, and the dining table seats all 12. Upstairs, a seating area doubles as a quiet place to work, and a reading nook looks out over the water.

The water
The waterfront is the reason to come. There is a shallow, sandy walk-in for small swimmers and deeper water off the newer dock for everyone else. Three kayaks, two stand-up paddleboards, a lily pad and a paddle boat are included. Two decks sit right at the water’s edge, a wraparound deck holds the barbecue and a table for eight, and a covered patio on the lower level keeps the rain off.

One note for spring and early summer: the sandy stretch of shoreline is seasonal and can be partly or fully under water when the lake is high.
Sunset dinners on the beautiful and spacious deck, making s’mores over the fire pit, and easy kayaking on a big, peaceful lake.

After dark
Evenings move between the covered hot tub, the fire pit and the deck. When the weather turns, the games room takes over, with foosball, air hockey, arcade machines and a PS5, and TVs on both levels. Children have their own discovery, a hidden Secret Room lit in neon. The lower level has a second kitchen, so two families can make breakfast without a queue, and central air keeps July nights comfortable.

Sleeping 12
Six bedrooms are spread over the levels: the primary with a king bed, four rooms with queens (one adds a toddler bed and another a single), and a bunk room with a single over a double. There are three full bathrooms: a five-piece upstairs with a tub and a separate shower, a three-piece on the main floor with the washer and dryer, and a four-piece on the lower level. The road in is maintained year round.
